My pick of Video Game Music of the Week for the week of January 12, 2008. The Metroid series was always known for it's dark tone and sense of aloneness, and Super Metroid continued this tradition. This music is from the opening to Metroid's third incarnation, and possibly the single creepiest tune from any Super Nintendo game, making the whole dark opening send shivers up anybody's spine. Super Metroid was definitely one of the best games on the Super Nintendo, and it's opening music is more than deserving of Video Game Music of the Week.
